Life Legacy

Ruth E. Paff, 86, formerly of Forks Township along the Delaware, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010 in Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Township where she had been a resident the last several weeks.

Born: June 13, 1923, in Bangor, she was one of 13 children born to Stanley and Anna Heckman. When Ruth was a child, her mother passed away. Her step mother, Flora Heckman helped to raise her and she played an integral part in Ruth’s life.

Personal: Ruth was married to Floyd N. Paff Sr. who died August 10, 1990. As a young girl and during the early years of marriage Ruth worked on the family farms, planting gardens and canning fruits and vegetables. Later she worked for various companies including Dixie and Binney & Smith. However, she was predominantly a homemaker to both her immediate and extended families. She was a very generous woman who welcomed everyone into her home, including her niece Sandra whom she raised since childhood. Ruth was an organized homemaker and did her housework on specific days of the week. Wednesday was baking day, and to the delight of her family, she made delicious fruit pies. In her spare time she enjoyed doing arts and crafts, with a special fondness for making latch hook and rag rugs. She was a member of Arndt’s Lutheran Church in Forks Township.

Survivors: Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. She is survived by 3 sons; Floyd “Junior” N. Paff Jr. and his wife Elaine of Nazareth, Wayne M. Paff and his wife Lee Ann of Forks Township, and Keith A. Paff and his wife Rebecca of Nazareth; niece Sandra Harley and her husband Robert of the state of Washington; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; 1 brother Melvin Heckman and 1 sister, Madeline Stanley; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by 1 daughter, Diane Krasenics; 1 grandson; 10 brothers and sisters.

Services: Funeral services will be held Monday at 11am in Arndt’s Lutheran Church, 1851 Arndt Rd., Easton, PA with the Rev. Jean L. Huber officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10am until time of service in the church. Burial will follow in Forks Cemetery.
