Albert R.
Lawson Iii
Sep 17, 1939 — Sep 20, 2021
Albert Russel Lawson III (affectionately known as "Sonny"), 82, of Lafona Mills, Plainfield Township, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, at his residence. He was the loving husband of Marilyn (Mazor) Lawson.
Albert was born in Easton Pennsylvania on September 17, 1939, a proud son of the late Ethel (Philkill) Lawson and Albert Lawson Jr.
Albert grew up in Pittstown, NJ and attended school at Franklin Township School and North Hunterdon Regional High School. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1957 to 1963, where he attained the rank of Specialist Fourth Class. During his time in the service, he traveled the world and was stationed at Braconne Army Depot, in Braconne France. After returning from the service, Albert moved to Annandale, New Jersey, where he began a career driving tractor trailers. He later moved to Plainfield Township, Pennsylvania, where he farmed for many years and operated Lafona Mills. Albert established the Albert Lawson Septic Service, which he owned and operated until he retired in 2016.
Over many years as a farmer, lumberjack, and businessman, Albert made many friends and was always kind and helpful to everyone he met. Albert was a fan of NASCAR and professional bull riding. In his early years he enjoyed hunting and participating horse show events of pole bending, keyhole, and barrel racing. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time on the farm taking care of his cattle and his companion Meyer (Myron) the dog, as well as driving his horse drawn carriage with the help of his friend Pete the horse.
Albert is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lawson; two sisters, Karen Fides and Linda Wood and her husband Douglas Wood; a daughter, Laurie Brunstetter and her husband Timothy Brunstetter, Sr.; a son, Michael Lawson; grandsons, John Sweet, Esq. and his wife Kanoknipa Sweet; Timothy Brunstetter, Jr. and his partner Kathy Pabalan, Christopher Lawson and Max Lawson; and a great-granddaughter, Jolianna Sweet. Albert was preceded in death by his sister June Wene.
