Alberta M. Doyle, 88, formerly of Nazareth, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015. She was the wife of the late Bruce I. Doyle, Jr., who died on May 29, 1991. Born November 17, 1926 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Ada (Bonser) Bonney. Earlier in life, Alberta worked as a telephone operator for Orr's Department Store in Easton and The Inn at Buck Hill Falls. She was later employed as a school bus driver for I.U. 20 for 25 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Belfast, where she formerly served as Vice President of the Consistory. A talented singer, Alberta was a member of the LORA-MORA Chorus and the Slate Belt Senior Citizen Chorus, in addition to singing for many years at local churches. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens of Martins Creek. Alberta is survived by a son, Wayde Doyle and his wife Patty of Nazareth; a step-son, Bruce Doyle of San Diego, CA; and a step-daughter, Patricia Muff, of PA. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Layna Schwab (Jesse), Samuel Doyle, and Samantha Hill (Nate); five great-grandchildren, Nova, Layla and Elliot Schwab and Aurora and August Hill; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Bruce, she was predeceased by a step-son, Craig Doyle, a step-daughter, Audrey Halbfoster, a brother, Albert Bonney, and a sister-in-law, Betty Bonney. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 5, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 474 Belfast Road, Belfast. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Frank Gassler presiding. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home, Nazareth, PA.
