Arlene M. Davis, 88, of Wind Gap, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Ralph F. Davis, who died December 21, 2007. BORN: May 7, 1925 in Pen Argyl, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Stella Strunk Ace. PERSONAL: Arlene worked for the R & R Toy Factory in Pen Argyl, and later for Valerie Fashions in Wind Gap. Arlene and her husband Ralph loved camping. They were members of the Silver and Grey Camping Club, and Lenape Runners. In her spare time, Arlene enjoyed needlework, and spending time with children and her church family. MEMBERSHIPS: She was a member of Hope United Church of Christ in Wind Gap where she served on the altar guild, chime choir and was involved in fund raising activities. SURVIVORS: Arlene is survived by three sons, Richard and wife Ruth of Allentown, Gary of Easton, and Kim and wife Janine of Wind Gap; two daughters, Trudy Hartman of Wind Gap, and Cathy DeVatt and husband Frank of Saylorsburg; one daughter-in-law, Charlotte Davis of Easton; eight grandchildren, Mark and Michael Davis, Tracy Serfass, James Haines, Franklin Hartman Jr., Jeremy and Justin Davis, and Jennifer Meckes; seven great grandchildren, Bryan Davis, Lindsey, Rachel, and Caleigh Davis, Nicole Serfass, and Madison and Meghan Haines; one brother, Donald Ace and wife Betty; and two sisters, Dorothy Labar, and Naomi Altemose and husband Bill. She was predeceased by one son, Glenwood; one brother, Edward Ace; one sister, Erma Detzi; and Gary's partner, Kevin Rivera. SERVICES: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in Hope United Church of Christ, 701 Cherry St., Wind Gap, with the Rev. Dr. Dean D. Frey presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the church. A private burial will be held in Wind Gap Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
