Beatrice J. Manini, 100, of Pen Argyl, passed away on Friday evening, August 10, 2018, in Old Orchard Health Care Center. She was the wife of Roger P. Manini who passed away on November 27, 1986. Born July 7, 1918 in Jackson Township, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Susan Hoffner DeHaven.
Beatrice worked as a waitress for Ross Common and later was employed at the Fenner Silk Mill in Wind Gap. Although she worked for a time outside of her home, her greatest joy in life was spent as a wife and mother. She always looked forward to family gatherings and would delight in treating everyone to her delicious cooking and baking.
She was a life member of the West Easton Fire Co. where she faithfully attended weekly bingo games, Brown and Lynch American Legion Post #9, the South Side Easton Senior Center and Christ United Methodist Church.
Beatrice is survived by sons Roger Manini and his wife Girlene, Robert Manini and his wife Marlene, Elio Manini and his wife Sue and John Manini and his companion Carol Butto; daughters Mabel "Cookie" Sleight and her companion Butch, Alberta "Pat" McAllister, Laia Strouse and Sueann Albert and her husband Craig. Thirty two grandchildren, forty eight great grandchildren, fifty great, great grandchildren and one great, great, great grandson. Beatrice was predeceased by son Richard, granddaughter Jamie, great grandson Kyle, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 10AM to 11AM in the Schmidt Funeral Home 202 West St. Wind Gap. Funeral Services will follow at 11AM in the funeral home. Beatrice will be laid to rest at Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township.
