Betty Jane Stocker, formerly of Forks Township, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth. Born July 23, 1924, in Kesslersville, she was a daughter of the late Francis J. and Anna Bender Frace. She was the beloved wife of the late David V. "Spike" Stocker Jr. with whom she shared 49 years of marriage prior to his passing in 1993.

A graduate of Easton High School, class of 1942, Betty worked for Binney & Smith Co. Later she joined her husband in the family business, Stocker Bros. Dairy, managing and working at the farm store until her retirement. It was here that so many families met and came to know Betty during their weekly purchase of milk. Betty appreciated being around people and was always very social.

Throughout her life, Betty enjoyed taking vacation trips to the Jersey shore, and later, often spending time and holidays there with her family.  During retirement, she also enjoyed winter getaways to Ft. Myers, FL with her sister Dawn and brother-in-law Bob. She was one who liked to hear a good story and tell a few of her own.  When prompted, she often reminisced about her experiences growing up during the Great Depression and focused on the importance and strength of family. In later years this was reflected in the tremendous love she shared with her daughter and grandchildren who were an integral part of her life. Affectionally called, Grammy Betty Boop, she loved them all and took great joy in everything they did.

She was a member of Forks United Church of Christ, Stockertown where she was active with Adult Fellowship and served as President for many years. During her elder years Betty remained spry and her appreciation to help others never waned. She was a true Phillies fan, always watching the games on TV, and she was an active Palmer Park Mall morning walker for over 30 years, a volunteer for the former Leader Nursing Home in Palmer Twp. in addition to working the election polls in Forks Twp. for over 25 years.

Betty will be missed by all those her knew and loved her including her only child, daughter Kathy Carlson of Cape May Court House, NJ and Ft. Myers, FL and her companion, Jack Hennessy; granddaughter Jill Fluharty and husband Tom "TA" of West Wildwood, NJ; 3 great grandchildren, Emily, Madison and Mae Fluharty, and 1 great-great grandchild, Robbie, all of Florida; 2 sisters, Gloria "Dolly" Kachline and husband Dale, and Dawn Trimble; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by son-in-law Robert "Bud" Carlson; sisters, Evelyn Werner and Virginia Hahn and brothers, Francis "Honeyboy" Frace, Elwood "Dick" Frace and Edwin "Caesar" Frace; and those with whom she shared a special bond, brother-in-law Robert "Bob" Trimble and her companion of many years, Ray Kromer.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing Tuesday evening, August 2, from 6-8 pm in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth and Wednesday morning, August 3 from 10-11 am in Forks United Church of Christ, 4500 Sullivan Trail, Stockertown. A Funeral service, with Pastor Bob Gutekunst presiding, will be held, Wednesday at 11 in the church. Betty will be laid to rest in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township.
