Beverly E. Hillyerd, 80, of Pen Argyl, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital Anderson Campus. She was the beloved wife of Raymond Hillyerd, Jr., with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Born October 26, 1936, in Pocono Twp, Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Jessie Daley Transue.

After working as a seamstress for 18 years, Beverly retired and became a full time homemaker. She loved spending time with her grandchildren; enjoyed drawing and doing crafts; was an avid bird watcher and had a great love for all animals. She was a former member of the Plainfield Township Lioness Club.

In addition to her husband, Beverly is survived by her son, Michael Hillyerd of Pen Argyl, and her daughter, Deborah Hillyerd and her wife Tammy Mikitsh of Cherryville. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Amanda Filaseta and her husband Daniel, and Jessica and Logan Michael Hillyerd; a great-granddaughter, Rhea Rose, expected to arrive in February; 3 brothers, Bradley, Robert and Myron Transue; and a sister, Gloria Fota.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at the Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West Street, Wind Gap, PA, 18091. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
