Brian Hannigan, 72, of Forks Township, died Thursday, August 13, 2026, at his home. He was the husband of Sandy Hannigan for 44 years. Born January 14, 1954, in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Donald and Adrienne (Dahlgren) Hannigan.

Brian was a proud United States Navy veteran who served two enlistments during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Sellers and USS Cook. His years at sea remained an important part of who he was throughout his life. A Navy man at heart, he always held a special appreciation for beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Brian lived his life with a strong sense of character and principle. He was always put together, valued tradition, and believed in following the rules and doing things the right way. At the same time, he was a tremendous jokester who loved making those around him laugh. He was also a faithful blood donor, quietly giving of himself to help others and encouraging family and friends to do the same.

He enjoyed bowling, playing the lottery, cheering on his beloved New York Yankees and Kansas City Chiefs, and traveling with Sandy and their family. Family reunions held a special place in his heart, as few things meant more to Brian than simply being together with the people he loved.

Above all, Brian was devoted to his family. After 44 years of marriage, Sandy remained his partner in life and adventure, and his grandchildren were a tremendous source of pride and joy. He adored them and treasured the time he was able to spend watching them grow. Brian will be remembered for his devotion to his country, his generosity toward others, his humor, and, most importantly, the deep and enduring love he had for his family.

Surviving with his wife are his daughter, Jennifer Krabbe (Richard) of Goshen, NY; grandchildren, Michael, Alexa, Jordan, and Grace; nieces and nephews, Suzanne Donato, Adrienne Lamanno (Gary), Edward Gibbons Jr., Meredith O’Brien-Hashem, Kenneth O’Brien; and several great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to call from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, August 20th at Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth, with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 PM. An additional calling hour will be held from 9:30-10:30 AM, Friday, August 21st at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Roman Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Easton with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM.
