Bruce I. MacDonald, 79, of Bushkill Township, died on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his residence.
Born December 21, 1937 in Nazareth (East Lawn), he was a son of the late Robert and Ida Learn MacDonald. He and his loving wife, the former Linda Zahn, were married 58 years on July 11th.
Bruce attended Nazareth Area High School, class of 1954, where he played football for two years. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served four years on the Destroyer U.S.S. Hale as a Radarman Petty Officer 1st class. He was very proud of achieving the rank of E6 in four years. Bruce was a home improvement contractor in the Nazareth area for 52 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, and Nazareth High School sports, especially football and wrestling.
Bruce was a life member of the NRA, Blue Ridge Bowmen, Citizens Hose Co., and an annual member of Tin Can Sailors.
In addition to his beloved wife Linda, Bruce is survived by sons, Michael and his wife Amy of Las Vegas, Thomas and his wife Lisa of Nazareth, and Patrick and his wife Lisa of Cherry Valley; one grandson, Tyler of Pen Argyl; two great-granddaughters, Sophia and Rosalie; brothers Larry and his wife Sandy of Canada, and Jay and his wife Wendy of Richboro; and sister, Molania D'Angiolillo and her husband Joe of Bethlehem Township.
There will be no services. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Place, Ste 170, Bethlehem PA 18017.
