Carl W. Roberts, 91, of Forks Township, passed away September 3, 2022 at home.  He was the beloved husband of Gail (Werkheiser) Roberts.  They were married 45 years on January 14, 2022.

Born March 9, 1931 in Chapman Quarries, he was a son of the late Elwood and Mary (Mann) Roberts.

Carl honorably served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  He retired from the Bethlehem Steel as a heat treatment planner and was later employed as a van driver for the former Easton Coach.

He enjoyed being active and especially talking and being with friends and people.  His hobbies gave him those opportunities.  Carl enjoyed singing and performing in Barbershop quartets, playing golf and fishing.  He was also a family man who always looked forward to family get togethers.  It was his family that gave him the greatest sense of pride and joy.

Carl was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Belfast where he served on Church Council and sang on the choir.  He was also a member of the Society for the Preservation of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America.

In addition to his wife Gail N. Roberts, Carl is survived by his daughter Susan Irwin and her husband Vince of Plainfield Township and their daughters Hannah Irwin and Lauren Irwin and her companion Alexander Hughes; son Gary Roberts and his wife Kristine of Florida; stepsons Chris Pugh and his wife Lesa of Washington Township and their daughters Savannah Pugh and Lacey Pugh and her fiancé Jesse Lawrence and Mark Pugh of Plainfield Township and his companion Faith Hulse and her sons Matthew and Nicholas Guerriere.  Carl is also survived by his sister Winnie Hartzell of Nazareth.  He was predeceased by his brother Ronald Roberts.

A memorial service will be held on Monday September 12, 2022 at 11:00 am in Grace Lutheran Church, 5907 Sullivan Trail, Nazareth PA, 18064.  Burial will be private in Forks Cemetery.  Memorials in Carl's name may be offered to the church or Family Pillars Hospice, 3910 Alder Place, Suite 130, Bethlehem, PA, 18017.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.
