Carl G. Solt, 91, of Nazareth, passed away at home on September 14, 2021. Born on November 27, 1929, he was a son of Walter and Edna (Gogle) Solt. Carl was the loving and beloved husband of Luella (Smith), with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage in July.

A member of the Nazareth High School Class of 1948, Carl worked at Ingersoll Rand Company until its closing, and retired from Met Ed and People's Coal and Supply. He served honorably as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. A life-long member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Nazareth, Carl was a member of the men's choir and served on consistory and as an usher.

In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by daughter, LuAnn Glantz (Carlton); son Glenn (Linda); granddaughters, Christina O'Neil (Chris) and Carly Glantz (fiancé, Shane Watson); and great-grandson, Cash O'Neil. Also surviving are sisters, Allene Kraemer of Bethlehem and Jane Adams of Florida. Carl was predeceased by his brother Walter, and sisters, Shirley and Joan.

Carl loved his family, and often called his granddaughters the "light of his life" and his "two joys". He had daily contact with each of them, was filled with pride at each of their accomplishments and was so appreciative of their love for and devotion to him. Great-grandson Cash brought another level of happiness to "ggpops" Carl. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, neighbors and all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 10 - 11 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. A funeral service will follow at 11 am in the funeral home. Carl will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth. The family respectfully requests that facial coverings are worn and social distancing be observed.
