My wife and best "buddy", Carol Wynne Fry, passed on February 25, 2021 and is finally free of pain.

Born in Pen Argyl, PA on June 2, 1941, she was raised in Nazareth, PA and attended Nazareth Area Schools, graduating in 1959. She went on to graduate from West Chester University in 1963 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, and married Albert C. Fry of Stockertown, PA, whom she met in a 9th grade study hall.

Her first teaching assignment was in Stockertown Elementary School, grades K-6. After Albert's enlistment in the USAF in 1965, Carol accompanied him to McGuire AFB in New Jersey, and taught in Mt. Holly. After Albert was reassigned to Elmendorf AFB, AK in 1967, Carol taught in the Anchorage School District on Elmendorf AFB. While in Alaska, she earned her Master's Degree in Science Education from the University of Alaska. After 32 years of teaching, Carol retired in 1996 and remained in Alaska with her husband until her passing. She was a dedicated teacher and her passion to go the extra "mile" for her 4th graders was unrelenting.

Carol was a member of PEO (Philanthropic Education Organization), and very active and a lifelong member at the Sterling Senior Center.

After retiring, Carol and Al travelled the USA and Canada (120,000) miles in their motorhome. In 2001 they moved from their home in Anchorage to the "cabin" in Sterling, AK on the Kenai Peninsula. They also became Sno-Birds, spending winter months in Surprise, AZ. She enjoyed attending live music events both in Anchorage and on the Kenai Peninsula. Her favorite was the Kenai Symphony Orchestra. She tolerated her husband's attempts at writing music and more so, listening to it. She also enjoyed her fishing days on the Kenai River, working in the greenhouse and keeping track of and feeding all the birds and ducks. But most of all, she missed all her "children".

She is survived by her husband Al of 57 years; sister-in-law, Cheryl K. Hahn and husband Dennis; brothers-in-law, Larry Fry and wife Ann, and Randy Fry and wife Nancy; nieces, Kara and Mindy; and nephews, Josh, Nolan and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Esther (Bachman) Wynne.

Her wishes were to be cremated and for a brief graveside service which will be held on June 15, 2021 (their wedding anniversary) at 2 pm in Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere Street, Nazareth.
