Charles J. Anthony, 77, of Allentown, and formerly of Easton, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. Born: He was born in Easton, on November 11, 1935, he was the son of the late Helen (Snook) and John Anthony. Personal: Family was Charlie's priority. He and his wife, the former Doris A. Knauss, celebrated 52 years of marriage this past November. A loving husband, and father, and a selfless individual, who consistently made sacrifices for his family. Charlie volunteered at Trinity Episcopal Church in Easton. He worked as a baker for the former Schiabel Bakery, in Easton for 21 years. Prior to that, he worked for the former Smiley Candy Company in Easton. Charlie was a talented bowler who bowled in various leagues in the Easton area and won many championship trophies during his career. An avid Iron Pigs, Phillies and Eagles fan, he also took pride in being the team manager for the Wilson Warriors football team while in high school. Charlie took pleasure being an avid flyer who took lessons towards his private pilot license at Braden Airport in Easton. Memberships: He was of the Lutheran Faith and a former member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wilson Borough and attended Moravian Church in Easton. Survivors: His loving wife, Doris; sons, Michael J. Anthony of Allentown, and Matthew T. Anthony of Philadelphia; sister, Judith Ruch of Plainfield, IL. Charlie was predeceased by his best buddy, Xeno, his dog, a lab, terrier and border collie mix. Services: Viewing, Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 7 to 9:00 p.m., in the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere Street, Nazareth. A second viewing will be held in the funeral home, Monday, March 11 from 11 to 12:00 p.m., followed by his service at Noon. Interment will follow services, in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
