Charmaine N. Ashenfalder, 90, of Nazareth, passed away peacefully Monday evening, April 1, 2024 in Moravian Hall Square. She was the beloved wife of Richard Ashenfalder who passed away in 1983.
Born December 2,1933 in Nazareth, she was the daughter of Theodore Sr. and Dorothy (Marsh) Nagle. She was a graduate of Nazareth High School. Early in life she worked as a telephone operator, a seamstress at Lehigh Frocks, a cafeteria attendant at Nazareth Junior High School where she was known as "the ice cream lady", and Alexandria Manor prior to retiring.
With Charmaine's engaging personality and kind nature, she was known to welcome everyone she met with a smile. She and Richard enjoyed Polka and Square Dancing, camping with the Coffee Trotters Group and attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. Throughout the many years as a spectator, she became quite proficient in knowing the rules to every game!
Charmaine was a lifelong member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Nazareth.
She will be lovingly remembered by her five sons; Duane (Marie), David (Patricia), Jeff (Connie), Ted (Wendy) and Lee (Diane); grandchildren Josh (Mary), Rick (Nicole), Sara Krogh (Erik), Kandi Dedman, Cory Koehler (Lacey), Nathan (Monica), Chris (Amanda), Mike (Mandy), Todd, Julie Morena (Dan); and great grandchildren Lincoln, Lucas, Landon, Theadora, Easton, Colton, Cayden, Charlie, Oakley and MacKenzie; brother in law Carl Ashenfalder and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Theodore "Teddy" Nagle Jr.
Charmaine's family would like to thank Moravian Hall Square, Personal Care staff, Galilee staff, Family Pillars Hospice and all the friends she made throughout her journey.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service for Charmaine on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 11 am in St. John's UCC, 183 South Broad St., Nazareth where a visitation will be held from 10-11 am. Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home PC., 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Charmaine's memory may be sent directly to the church.
