Claire C. Uhler, 91, of Gilbertsville, PA, passed away on September 6, 2014 in West Caldwell, NJ. She was the wife of Robert M. Uhler from Easton, PA. Claire was born in Pleasantville, New Jersey, the daughter of Merritt Chew and Myrtle Lear Chew. Claire was the mother of eleven children and lived in northern New Jersey until after Robert retired; then they moved to Gilbertsville, PA. They were together 55 years until Robert's passing in 2003. Claire is survived by her children, Robert Morey Uhler, Jr, of Boyertown, PA, Susan Claire Uhler of Gilbertsville, PA; Kerry Edward Uhler of Hillsborough, NH; Timothy Dean Uhler of Chester, NY; Gilbert Wayne Uhler of Bothell, WA; Diane Esther Uhler, of Kinnelon, NJ; Judith Ann Ploch of West Caldwell, NJ; Russell Miles Uhler, of Bridgewater, NJ; Gene Frederick Uhler of Downingtown, PA; and Eric Douglas Uhler of Holly Springs, NC. Claire leaves behind twenty seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Wesley Earl Uhler. A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 13th at Hope Lutheran Church, 240 S. 8th Street, Tatamy, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 10-11 am with the service to follow at 11:00 am. All are invited to a luncheon at the church after the services.
