Clarence Fehnel, 81, of Palmer Township, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Carol Raub Fehnel, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage in February. BORN: Clarence was born on March 5, 1933 in Palmer Township. He was the son of the late Floyd and Mary Edith Kessler Fehnel. PERSONAL: Clarence graduated from Nazareth High School. He was self-employed as a dairy and crop farmer and had a life-long love of agriculture. In his spare time he loved to collect tractors and listen to polka music. MEMBERSHIPS: Clarence grew up in the Lutheran faith. He was a member and former director of the Northampton County Farm Bureau Co-op, a member of Tatamy-Stockertown Lions Club, and a life member of Tatamy Fire Co. He was also a member of the Pocono Old Tyme Farm Equipment Association, New Penn-Jersey Tractor Association, and a county committee member of the Farm Service Agency. SURVIVORS: In addition to his beloved wife Carol, Clarence is survived by three sons, Gary and his wife Melissa, Scott and his wife Pamela, and Stephen and his companion Rochelle Speer; five grandchildren, Amanda Klein and her husband Jacob, Lauren Fehnel, Audra Fehnel, Rebecca Fehnel, and Thomas Fehnel; and one great-granddaughter, Ava Klein. He was predeceased by one sister, Jean Fehnel. SERVICES: Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, November 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Schmidt Funeral Home, P.C., 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth, and on Tuesday, November 25, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Ernest G. Shaffer presiding. Burial will be in Forks Cemetery, Stockertown.
