Dale E. Cassler, 90 of Nazareth, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 in St. Luke's Hospital Fountain Hill.  Born July 15, 1927 in Easton, he was the son of the late Eugene C. Cassler and Minnie C. Cassler Reed, and the late Thomas J. Reed.  He was the husband of the late Frieda Sandt Cassler.

Dale was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from East Stroudsburg State Teacher's College in 1950, and earned his Master of Arts degree in guidance education from Lehigh University in 1960.  He was a teacher at Plymouth-Whitemarsh Jr.-Sr. High School from 1953-1955.  Dale then taught at Nazareth Area Junior High School from 1955-1960, at which time he became the guidance counselor for the school until his retirement in 1988.

Dale was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pen Argyl, and former member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association.

Friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, April 6th, from 10-11 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.  Funeral services will follow at 11 am, in the funeral home.  Dale will be laid to rest in Hope Cemetery, Hecktown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to the Nazareth YMCA, 33 S. Main St., Nazareth PA 18064, or to the Nazareth Memorial Library, 295 E. Center St., Nazareth.
