Dale R. Mengel, 85, of Upper Nazareth Township, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 in his home.  He was the loving husband of Lucille Gordon Mengel.  Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage on August 1, 2023.

Born July 19, 1938 in Easton, he was a son of the late Lester and Helen Meyer Mengel.  Dale was a graduate of Wilson High School and worked as a printer assistant for Mack Printing before retiring.

Dale was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ , Nazareth and the former East Lawn Volunteer Fire Company, now the Upper Nazareth Volunteer Fire Company, where he served as Fire Chief for 10 years.

Along with his wife Lucille, Dale is survived by his only child, Linda Lopez and her husband Michael of Solvana, CA; 1 sister Delma Hulbert and her husband Paul of Wilson Boro and 1 brother Lee Mengel of Phillipsburg, NJ.

Dale was predeceased by siblings Sherwood Mengel, Arlyne Vierzbicki, Thelma Mengel, Pearl Steckel, Marvin Mengel, Lois Mengel, Barbara Werkheiser and Donald Mengel.

In accordance with Dale's wishes, there will be no services.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. John's United Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.
