Daniel W. Etzold, 68, of Palmer Twp. PA, passed away Saturday, November 21 in the company of his family at St Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem.  He was the husband of Sarah (Sallie) L. Etzold with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.

Dan was born on September 4, 1947 in Rahway, NJ, a son of the late Herbert and Margaret Etzold.

Dan was a proud student-athlete and alumnus of Jonathan Dayton High School, Class of 1965, Springfield, NJ and Virginia Tech, where he took the football field as a freshman Hokie and later earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business, '71.

He was an independent businessman in the medical supply industry, specializing in marketing and sales. Dan retired in 2010 and enjoyed following the NY Giants and spending time with his grandchildren.

Along with his loving wife, Sallie, Dan is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Doug Daub of Philadelphia, PA; one son, David and his wife Aislinn O'Callahan of Fleetwood, NY and two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Lilly) Sarah Etzold, and Isla Via Daub. He is also survived by one brother, Herbert and his wife Pamela of Wharton, NJ and one sister, June Temple and her husband, Steven of Sandpoint, ID.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday December 12, from 10-11:30am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St. Nazareth,PA. A celebration of life will begin at 11:30am in the funeral home followed by a luncheon reception at the Etzold residence. Burial will be private.
