Donald R. Kemmerer, Jr., 62, formerly of Effort, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016, after a year long battle with cancer.  Don was the husband of Sandra Banghart Kemmerer; they were married on July 3, 2010.

B orn October 31, 1953, in Easton, he was a son of the late Donald R. Kemmerer, Sr. and the late Anne M. Knecht Kemmerer.

Don was formerly employed as a maintenance person by Arsha Vidya Pitham in Saylorsburg. A "Jack of all Trades", he was known to be able to fix anything. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping and riding four wheelers. He especially loved spending time with his family.

Along with his wife, Don is survived by two sons, Matthew of Effort and Donald III, of Bethlehem; two daughters, Alysha Kemmerer of Bethlehem and Amanda Kemmerer and her fiancée Daniel Frantz of Kunkletown; a brother, George Kemmerer of Saylorsburg; and a sister, Cindy Kemmerer of Bethlehem. Also surviving is his Granddaughter, Zoe.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday evening, March 30, from 7-8:30 p.m., and on Thursday morning, March 31, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West St., Wind Gap. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forks Cemetery, Stockertown.
