Doris M. Achenbach, 81, of Washington Township, formerly of Belfast, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013 in Old Orchard Health Care Center, Bethlehem Township. BORN: Doris was born June 16, 1931 in Lower Mount Bethel, a daughter of the late Roy and Margaret Kolb Weiant. Her husband Robert W. died earlier. PERSONAL: Doris was employed as a customer service representative for Sammons Communications in Forks Township until retirement. MEMBERSHIPS: She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Belfast, the Slate Belt Auxiliary, and a member of the American Cancer Society. SURVIVORS: Doris is survived by one daughter, Deborah L. of Forks Township; one sister, Janet Rinker of Stroudsburg; one niece; one nephew; and one great-nephew. SERVICES: A graveside service will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in Belfast Union Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home P.C., 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.
