Doris R. Miller, 88, formerly of Belfast, passed on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Township. BORN: Born February 25, 1925 in Bangor, she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Ada Miller Emery. Her husband Vernon died in April of 1972. PERSONAL: Doris was a sewing machine operator at Shapiros in Easton and later worked for Lehigh Frocks in Nazareth where she retired. She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her pet bird, a Sun Conure named Sunny. MEMBERSHIPS: She was of the UCC faith. SURVIVORS: Doris is survived by one son, Ronald and his wife Susan of Northampton; three daughters, Diane Bortz and her husband David of Nazareth, Donna Huth and her husband Craig of Easton, and Karen Presby and her husband Mark of Bangor; and grandchildren, Jennifer and Russell Bortz, Taylor and Devin Presby, and Donald and Kevin Huth. She was predeceased by two sisters, Esther and Agnes. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Schmidt Funeral Home P.C., 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth with the Rev. Frank J. Gassler presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to call 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Belfast Union Cemetery.
