Dorothy M. Amelio, 88, of Nazareth, passed away after a short illness last Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Rudy Amelio, Sr., who died in 1996. Born December 28, 1926, in Nazareth, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Anna Crowl Ottinger. Dorothy graduated from Nazareth High School in 1944, and worked as a real estate agent for Rudy Amelio Real Estate in Allentown. Later in life, she worked as an Office Angel at Haines City United Methodist Church in Florida. An avid golfer, Dorothy was a founding member of the Diamondback Golf Club in Haines City. She was a member of Bushkill United Methodist Church in Wind Gap. Dorothy is survived by her step-son, Rudy Amelio, Jr., his wife Chris, and their son Blaise. Also surviving are her nieces, Marsha Wiker and Carolyn Wiker, and nephews Robert Ottinger and his wife Julie, William Ottinger and his wife Kathy, and James Ottinger and his wife Mary Ellen. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Friday, November 13, 2015, at the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere Street, Nazareth. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am in the funeral home with the Rev. J. Timothy Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.
