Dorothy (Dottie) Brewen, age 94, of Wind Gap, PA passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023.  She was the beloved wife of the late Clayton Brewen, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.  Born in Wind Gap, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Minnie Brewer Weidman.

Dottie was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School, Class of 1947.  She was employed for many years in the office of North Bangor Slate Company as the Payroll Clerk.  She was last employed and retired from Hughes Clothing Store, formerly Sauerwines in Pen Argyl.

Dottie and her late husband traveled many times to Florida.  They also liked to dance, which they did on most Saturday nights.  Later, it was card playing that they enjoyed.  Dottie enjoyed cooking, baking and especially making favorite meals for her children and grandchildren.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was a member of the former Trinity Lutheran Church, where she sang in the Choir, was a Sunday School teacher and the Financial Secretary.  Now, a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Plainfield.

Dottie is survived by her daughter, Judy Jones and her husband Steven; her son, Barry Brewen and his husband Stephen; her granddaughter, Kimberly; her grandson, Jeffrey; her great-grandson, Liam; her sister, Shirley Sylvester; her sister-in-law, Elsie Weidman; and her many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her late husband, Clayton; her brother Floyd Weidman, Jr; and her six sisters, Ruth Houck, Esther Kessler, Marion North, Mildred Neal, Joyce Meixsell and Violet Kromer.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend the funeral service which begins at 10am on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West Street, Wind Gap, PA 18091.  Pastor Chris Druckenmiller will officiate.  Burial will be in Wind Gap Cemetery following the service.
