Dorothy E. Fischer, 94, of Plainfield Twp, known to many as "Dot", passed away on August 2, 2020. She was the loving wife for 69 years of the late August "Jack" Fischer.

Born February 9, 1926 in Oradell, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Louise Eschenbach and sister to the late John F. Eschenbach.

Dorothy was a dedicated kindergarten teacher in New Jersey, retiring after thirty-seven years, from Manito Elementary School in Oakland, NJ.

She was a faithful member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Belfast where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, attended Bible Study and was a member of WELCA. Dorothy enjoyed spending time in her flower garden, trying new recipes and solving Jumble puzzles. She also had an avid interest in weather-watching.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Lynne Januszkiewicz; son-in-law, Jack; and her granddaughters, Codi and Amie, who always made her proud. Her dogs have also always been a special part of her family; her most recent companion being her shih tzu rescue, Missy.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 10-11 am in the pavilion at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5907 Sullivan Trail, Nazareth (Belfast) 18064, followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Belfast Union Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial donations in Dorothy's name be made to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church at the above address, or to Holy Family Senior Living, Charitable Gifts, 1200 Spring St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.
