Dorothy I. "Dot" Johnson, 94, formerly of Tatamy, passed away Tuesday, Aug 6, 2013 in Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth. BORN: April 20, 1919 in Forks Township, she was the only child of Charles H and Jennie V. Sandt Young. Later Dot moved to Tatamy where she resided for over 80 years. She was the beloved wife of Karl V. Johnson with whom she shared 74 years of marriage. PERSONAL: Dot was a talented cook and baker. For many years, she worked for the former Carldon's Restaurant in Nazareth but most notably she was an integral part of the fund raising "baking crew" at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Tatamy. One of her specialties was the dry bottom shoofly pie. She also enjoyed acquiring owl collectables and playing cards. She was the last surviving member of her card club, consisting of seven other friends. MEMBERSHIPS: Dot was one of the oldest living members of St. Peter's U.C.C. where she belonged to the Woman's Guild. She was also a lifetime member of the Tatamy Fire Company Auxiliary. SURVIVORS: Along with her beloved husband Karl, she is survived by sons Terry Johnson, and his wife Connie, of Harrisburg and William R. Johnson, and his wife Janet, of Mechanicsburg. SERVICES: Funeral services with the Rev. Ernest G. Shaffer presiding will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday evening, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forks Cemetery, Stockertown.
