Dorothy M. Werner, 92, of Tatamy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert Werner, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage at the time of his passing in October, 2005.

Born on July 28, 1923 in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Alice Koose Silfies.

Dorothy attended East Stroudsburg University and became a school teacher for a short time. She later worked as a Quality Control Supervisor for Keystone Food Products, from where she retired after more than 25 years of service.

Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and is survived by three sons, Lon D. Werner and his wife Cynthia of Nazareth, Robert P. Werner and his partner Bernard of Vail, Colorado, and Jody A. Werner and his wife Cynthia of Tatamy; her daughter, LuAnn D. Werner of Forks Township; 8 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Paul Silfies, Jr., and her sister, Marion Meixsell.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, January 4, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Schmidt Funeral Home, P.C., 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with Chaplain Patrick McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Easton.
