Duane S. Purdy, 86, of Bethlehem Township, passed away Thursday evening, August 21, 2014, in the Hospice House of the VNA of St Luke's. He was the husband of Eleanor (Casebeer) Purdy. Born May 15, 1928 in Easton, he was a son of the late Mortimer S. and Irene (Chase) Purdy. Duane worked as a deliveryman for ITT retiring after more than 20 years of service. Earlier he worked for Atlantic States as well as Treadwell Engineering. He attended God's Missionary Church, Coopersburg. Along with his wife Eleanor, Duane is survived by one brother, Boyd Purdy and three sisters, Arlyn Detweiler, Marie Woroniec and Janice Honeycutt. He was predeceased by one brother and two sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday August 27, from 10-11am, in the Schmidt Funeral Home 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. A funeral service will follow at 11 am on Wednesday, in the funeral home, with Rev. Van Dorman presiding. Burial will be in Forks Cemetery.
