Earl Franklin Abel, 93, of Plainfield Township, passed away in St. Luke's Hospice House on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. His wife of 72 years, Florence (Dolly) Abel, predeceased him on May 23, 2019.

Born on January 23, 1926, in Stockertown, he was the son of the late Frank Abel and Elsie (Klump) Abel. Earl attended Nazareth High School and served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Plainfield Township Lions Club and the Whitfield Lodge #622. His passion was repairing cars, and he retired from Easton Buick in 1988. He was a lifelong member of Forks UCC Church in Stockertown.

Earl is survived by two nieces, Kathleen Owens and her husband Robert, and Diane Huber and her husband Michael; two great nephews, Andrew John Owens and Michael Thomas Huber and his wife Jessica. He is also survived by a great great niece, Anastasia Huber.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Forks UCC, 4500 Sullivan Trail, Stockertown. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Bob Gutekunst presiding. Earl will be laid to rest in Forks Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Earl's name may be offered to the church.
