Obituary

Elinor L. "Tootie" Kessler, 94, formerly of Kesslersville, Plainfield Twp., passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Gracedale Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Melvin F. Kessler with whom she shared 55 years of marriage at the time of his death in 1998.

Born October 2, 1921 in Plainfield Twp., she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Bertha E. Kachline Mack.

From the time of their marriage, she and her husband Melvin owned and operated the family farm in Kesslersville. Elinor was also employed for many years as a finisher at Magnetic Windings in Easton, from where she retired in 1986.

She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Tatamy.

Elinor is survived by her brother, Sherwood Mack of Belfast, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Ruth Young, Doris Mack, Viola Seyfried, Flossie Matthews, Elda Pritchard, and Arlene Duvo, and her brothers, Pete and Ernest Mack.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, April 15, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at Hope Lutheran Church, 240 South Eighth Street, Tatamy, PA, 18085. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Herbert Dolich officiating. Burial will follow at Forks Cemetery, Stockertown. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Schmidt Funeral Home, Nazareth.
