Elizabeth Mae Eyer, 86, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in Slate Belt Medical Center. BORN: September 29, 1927 in Tatamy, she was a daughter of the late Mathias and Sarah Jones Eyer. PERSONAL: Elizabeth was a graduate of Nazareth High School, class of 1946, and also Churchman's Business College. She worked for Easton Hospital as a secretary and later for Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 Northampton County as a bookkeeper. MEMBERSHIPS: She was a life member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Tatamy. Elizabeth served as elder and secretary for the church, and was a member of the church consistory and women's guild. She was also a member of the Tatamy Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. SURVIVORS: Elizabeth is survived by one nephew, Elwood R. Eyer of Hellertown; two grandnephews, Jeffrey R. Eyer of Nazareth, and Jesse Kitchen of New York; two grandnieces, Lori Eyer Bender of Tatamy, and Christine Femiak of New York; two great grandnephews, Eric Eyer of Wind Gap, and Clifford Fordham III of New York; two great grandnieces, Beth Ann Pettis of Bangor, and Samantha Eyer of Wind Gap; one great great grandnephew, Seth L. Fehr of Bangor; and two great great grandnieces, Faith M. Fehr of Bangor, and Olivia Hess of Wind Gap. She was predeceased by five brothers, Elwood, Russell, Raymond, Lester and George; one sister, Arlene; and one niece, Joanne Eyer Femiak. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held on Monday, at 11:00 am in St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 4th and Broad Sts, Tatamy, with the Rev. Ernest Shaffer presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home, P.C., 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.
