Elizabeth L. Engler, 68, of Nazareth passed away early Friday morning, March 28, 2014, in the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Township. She was the wife of James Engler Jr. who passed away in 2005. Born January 13, 1946 in Phillipsburg, NJ she was a daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Becker Piatt. Betty was a graduate of Phillipsburg Catholic High School. Along with her husband Jim, she owned and operated House of Flowers in Nazareth in addition to working at Moravian Hall Square and East Coast Touring Co. Betty was a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth. Betty is survived by one son James III and his wife Allyson of Barnegat, NJ, one daughter Heather Fisher and her husband Ken of Nazareth, one granddaughter Morgan Engler, one brother Richard and his wife Arlene of Forks Township, and two sisters Janet Byrne and her husband Reginald of Cape May Court House, NJ, and Marlene Nemeth of Vero Beach, FL. Along with her husband and parents, Betty is predeceased by her brother Thomas Piatt and sisters Margaret Buesing, Alice Maurer and Dorothy Piatt. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 11 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St Nazareth. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10-11 am on Monday. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
