Ellen Louise Lancaster-Schmidt, 94, of Wind Gap, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, July 6, 2021, with her family by her side in St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus.

Born June 25, 1927, in Wind Gap, she was a daughter of the late George and Aetta (Saddler) Kline and was raised by her grandparents Ella and William Kline.

Ellen worked for 25 years in quality control for Collins and Aikmen in Stroudsburg before retiring.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wind Gap where she served as secretary to church council and was active in various fund raisers. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary #724, Wind Gap, Major League Alumni Association, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Senior Circle of Easton Hospital, treasurer of Local #725, and board member of Allied Industries, New York City.

Ellen also ran the sauerkraut dinner at the Blue Valley Farm Show for 19 years and organized bus trips for Palmieri for 19 years.  She had many hobbies and enjoyed shopping, traveling, especially winters in Florida, bus trips, crocheting, country music concerts at Alburtis Park and visiting and helping her friends.

Ellen will be missed by her loving family, daughter, Patricia Krout and her husband Michael of Sinking Springs; son, Scott Lancaster and his wife Tamie of Pen Argyl; grandchildren, Dr. Ryan Krout and his wife Leone of Wilmington, DE, Tara Mark and her husband Daniel of Kempton, Jenna McAllister and her husband Joel, and 1 ^st Lt. Alan Lancaster and wife 1 ^st Lt. Aubrey Lancaster of Warner Robins, GA; 3 great grandchildren, Hunter and Chloe Mark, and Waylon McAllister; 2 step great grandchildren, Arthur and Amanda Cahill; sister, Elizabeth Rinehart of Newnan, GA; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by husband William R. Lancaster in 1988, after 43 years of marriage, Fred A. Schmidt in 2012, after 19 years of marriage; and son Donald R. Lancaster in 1992.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 9-10 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West St., Wind Gap.  A funeral service will follow at 10 am in the funeral home.  Ellen will be laid to rest in Plainfield Cemetery.
