Elsie I. Lambert, 78 of Plainfield Township, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Elwood Lambert, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Born March 9, 1937, in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Edith Staats Sigman.
Elsie graduated from Easton High School in 1955. She worked in the billing department of the VNA Easton, from where she retired in 2000 after 20 years of service. Over the years she acquired an extensive elephant collection. She enjoyed playing bingo and loved to travel. She was a member of Forks United Church of Christ in Stockertown.
In addition to her husband, Elsie is survived by two daughters, Lori A. Weaver and Sharon L. Lambert. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Kelly Fairchild, Brian Yetter, Michael Rodriguez, Robert Weaver, Jr., Tiffany Gary and Jessica Weaver; and 7 great-grandchildren, Brittany and Vanessa Fairchild, Brody and Anna Gary, Jace and Lilianna Varju and Olivia Yetter.Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 am on Monday, February 8, at the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere Street, Nazareth. A funeral service will begin at 11 am in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Gutekunst officiating. Burial will follow in the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Easton.
