Obituary

Elvira "Vera" Nicholasen, 67, of Bath, Pa., went to be in the ever-loving hands of the Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, with her beloved husband by her side, at St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem, Pa. Born April 15, 1946 in Weymouth, Mass., Mrs. Nicholasen was the daughter of the late Michael and Elvira Ferullo of Weymouth, Mass. She loved bowling with her husband, traveling and visiting her 10 grandchildren. She also enjoyed the East Bath Rod & Gun Club, of which she was a life member. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, James "Jim" Nicholasen; her daughter, Michelle Nicholasen of Somerville, Mass., her husband, Jim O'Toole and their children, Annamira, Lucy, Josie, Bevin and Cian; her daughter, Ginger Fleming of Ocean Pines, Md., her husband, Frank, and their children, Chandler, Madi and Cooper; and her son, David Nicholasen of Stockertown, Pa., his wife, Carol, and their children, Erin and Trent. Also surviving are four sisters, Anne Noonan of Portland, Texas, and her husband, Bill; Barbara Parmley of Townsend, Mass., and her husband, Bill; Rose Jackman of Weymouth, Mass.; and Patricia Tocchio of South Weymouth, Mass.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nicholasen was preceded in death by a nephew, Sean Noonan; and a great-niece, Paige Jackman. A viewing will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Monday, March 17, at Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., in Nazareth, Pa. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, at Schmidt Funeral Home. Pastor Jay Wetzel of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bath Pa., where she was a member, will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forks Church Cemetery, Stockertown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mrs. Nicholasen's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105, or online at www.stjude.org/donate.
