Emma J. Fogel, 90, of Nazareth, passed away Wednesday evening, June 25, 2014 in Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Township. She was the wife of the late Kermit W. Fogel with whom she shared 25 years of marriage. Born October 27, 1923 in Bath, she was a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Mary Yandrisovits Herman. Emma worked at Kline's Restaurant, the Nazareth Waist Mill and Kraemer Textile before retiring. She had a talent for playing the piano without the help of sheet music and enjoyed a reputation as an excellent cook. She was also a staunch advocate for animal rights. Emma was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth where she sang on the choir under the direction of Gus Weinhofer. She is survived by her only child, son Rodney K. and his wife Sandra K. of Bath, Sandra's daughter Nicole Glass and her husband Eric and their children Isabelle and Ella. Two sisters, Helen Follweiler and Hattie Rissmiller both of Nazareth and several nieces and nephews. Emma was predeceased by brothers Joseph and William, half sister Mary Solderitch and half brothers John and Frank Mikovits. Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday from 10-11 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St. Nazareth. A prayer service will be held Saturday at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Memorials in Emma's name may be offered to Holy Family School, 17 North Convent Avenue, Nazareth PA 18064.
