Frances Virginia Benward-Gruver, 104, of Palmer Twp., quietly passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020 in St. Luke's Hospital Anderson Campus.

She was born on June 22, 1915 in Phillipsburg, NJ, a daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Hendershot Benward.

Frances is survived by her son, Kenneth E. Gruver of Wind Gap; two grandsons, Kenneth E. Gruver II and his wife Christine of Palmer Twp., and Christopher J. Gruver of Wind Gap; eight great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jessica, Valerie, Brandon and Lisa, Jesse, Miranda, and Jonas; and five great-great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Dustin, Annabelle, Garrett, and Gavin.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by four brothers; and three sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, January 28 from 10-11 a.m. in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Frances will be laid to rest in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Frances' name may be offered to the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind, 555 Gettysburg Pike, Suite A300, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
