Gayle B. Freyman, 82, of Bethlehem passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in Bethlehem Manor. Born September 11, 1935 in Pen Argyl, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Beulah Andrews Glasser. She was the loving and caring wife of Rodney M. Freyman. Together, they recently celebrated 40 years of marriage.
Gayle was a graduate of East Stroudsburg University where she received her B.S. in Education and continued, with further degree studies, to become a Special Education teacher. In later years Gayle enjoyed playing piano, and Celtic fiddle. Most notably, she played with the Moravian College Community Orchestra, as a violinist, for 30 years. Although music was important in Gayle's life, she particularly enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter and strolling along the pathways at Longwood Gardens.
She is survived by her husband Rodney of Bethlehem; her daughter, Johnna Freyman-Ward of Bethlehem; her granddaughter, Abigayle; sister, Barbara (Lynn) Neagley of South Carolina; and nieces, Kimberly (Douglas) Geib of Florida, Pam (Charles) Strange of South Carolina, and Elizabeth (Michael) Johnson, also of South Carolina.
Friends are invited to a viewing on Monday evening, June 4, from 6-8pm and Tuesday morning, June 5, from 10-11am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Funeral services will follow at 11am in the funeral home. Gayle will be laid to rest in Wind Gap Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name, Gayle B. Freyman, can be made to
