Gaylen E. Hoff, 60, of Saylorsburg, Ross Twp, passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at home. He was the beloved husband of Pamela Lipyanic Hoff.; together they shared 41 years of marriage. Born on September 27, 1954, in Wilson Boro, Gaylen was the son of Russell Hoff and the late Elaine Knitter Hoff. Gaylen worked as a truck driver for Muschlitz Excavating, Inc. for the past 13 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing with his grandkids. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Gilbert, the Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club and the Blue Mountain Fish & Game Association. In addition to his father and his wife, Pam, Gaylen is survived by his children, Tara Allen and her husband Jason of Utah, Todd Hoff and his wife Stacey of Easton, and Terry Hoff and his wife Megin of Saylorsburg. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Corey, Meg, Tanner, Katie, Brandon, Gavin and Gabriel; a great-granddaughter, Paige; sisters, Janice Padgett and Sheila Buskirk; father and mother-in-law, Peter and Janet Lipyanic; sisters-in-law Shelly Lipyanic and Sheila Renner; nieces and nephews; and his faithful companions, Brownie and Bella. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, March 9, and from 10 to 11 am on Tuesday, March 10, in the Schmidt Funeral Home, P.C., 202 West St., Wind Gap. A funeral service will follow at 11 am in the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Dean D. Frey presiding. Burial will be private.
