Geraldine M. "Gerry" Walter, 98, formerly of Nazareth, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Gracedale Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Jacob "Jake" Walter with whom she shared 65 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2004.

Born February 24, 1918 in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Verna Heimbach Steiner.

Gerry and her late husband Jake were the owners and operators of Walter's Dry Cleaning in Nazareth for 29 years. She loved to read and was an avid walker. She also enjoyed bowling at Blue Valley Lanes and the Nazareth YMCA.

She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nazareth.

Gerry is survived by two children, Larry Walter and his wife Ann, and Sandra Wagner, both of Nazareth. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Mark Walter and Jill Wagner, both of Nazareth, and Alison Hughes of Pottstown, and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Robert Steiner.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family, and are under the care and direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home, Nazareth. Burial will take place in Belfast Union Cemetery.
