Gloria S. Ackerson, 81, of Plainfield Township, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020, in St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus.

Born August 20, 1938 at home, in Plainfield Township, she was the youngest child born to Wasyl and Fannie Palo Morykin. Gloria attended Pen Argyl High School and worked as a floor lady for several textile mills, retiring from Jim Jam in Newburg.

Gloria was very family oriented. She remained living in the family home where she was born and raised, and enjoyed numerous family gatherings there throughout the years. She was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Stroudsburg, as well as a member of UNITE.

She is survived by her sons; Laredo "Larry" Ackerson and Merritt Ackerson, grandchildren; Erica, Kasey and Tyler, 5 great grandchildren and sisters; Kathryn Pinto and Helen Kessler and her husband Thomas.

Gloria is predeceased by her brothers; Charles, John and Michael Morykin and sisters; Ann Fedorak, Mary Morykin, Fannie Salash and Eva Bonisese.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 10-11 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 202 West St., Wind Gap. Facial coverings and social distancing will be required. Funeral services and burial will be private with the family.
