Grace Emma Brewen, 96, of Wind Gap, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014, after a short stay at Gracedale Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Herbert Brewen. BORN: Grace was born August 16, 1918 in Wind Gap to Thomas and Maude Dorward. After her parents died, Grace became the adopted daughter of the late Ezra and Emma Florey. PERSONAL: Grace worked for Gaye Sportswear for 28 years before retiring. Grace enjoyed being a grandmother and was adored by her three grandsons. She was their Nana. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always fun. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting and water color painting at which she was quite successful. MEMBERSHIPS: Grace was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wind Gap, now part of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plainfield Township, and also a member of UNITE. SURVIVORS: Grace is survived by one son, Alan Brewen of Pittsford, NY; three grandsons, Jaeson Brewen (Julie) of Bellvue, Colorado, Erik Brewen (Jessica) of Roseburg, Oregon, and Ryan Brewen of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; one great-grandson, Hunter (Jaeson); one great-granddaughter Kiyah (Erik); and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Herbert Brewen, three sisters, a half-sister and half-brother. SERVICES: Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 am on Wednesday, November 19, in the Schmidt Funeral Home, P.C., 202 West St., Wind Gap. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday at 11 am in the funeral home, with the Rev. C. Frank Terhune presiding. Burial will be in Plainfield Cemetery.
