Obituary

Gregory Allen Altemose, 56, of Ponte Vedra, FL, formerly of Tatamy, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.
Born in Wilson Boro on July 12, 1960, Gregory was a son of the late Carl Edward Altemose and Marlene Louise Meckes Kovalefsky.  He was the loving husband of Tracy Whitehead Altemose of Ponte Vedra, FL, with whom he shared 17 years of marriage.

Greg graduated in 1978 from the Warren County Technical High School in Franklin Township, NJ.  He worked as a production manager, and was part owner of Accuratus Corp in NJ for 37 years.  He was very dedicated to his work, retiring in March of 2016.  Greg was a devoted softball coach for his girls when younger, and also a wrestling coach for his son.  He was an avid bowler with the Holy Family Friday night league, and also an avid photographer in his spare time.  He appreciated the history of St. Augustine, traveling there for many years.  He also enjoyed outside recreation; playing softball, hiking, camping and many other activities.  Greg loved helping others when needed, volunteering for Helping Hands at St. John's Lutheran Church, and Habitat for Humanity.

Greg was a past member of the Tatamy-Stockertown Lions Club for 16 years, serving as President for 10 years.
In addition to his beloved wife Tracy, Greg is survived by two daughters, Leanna and Nicole; one son, Christopher; two grandchildren, Hailey and Austin Rehrig; two sisters, Carlene Altemose, and Becky Achey and her husband Raymond; three brothers, Edward Altemose and his wife Terese, Amzie Altemose and his wife Ellen, and Carl Altemose, Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, June 4, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at St. John's UCC, 183 South Broad St., Nazareth, PA.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the church.  Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Greg's name may be offered to the American Cancer Society, 3893 Adler Place, Suite 170, Bethlehem PA 18017, or to Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, Attn: Alison Damato, 425 Spring Lake Dr, Itasca, IL 60143-2076.
