Obituary

Helen Miller, 97, formerly of Plainfield Township, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 in Gracedale. Born July 13, 1921 in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Frances Stoicsitz Gassler. Her husband Charles C. Miller died October 2, 1998.

Helen worked at various blouse mills in the Slate Belt before retiring. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Plainfield Township. Helen enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, crafts, sewing lap robes for nursing homes, and embroidering.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Linda Davey of New Albany, PA, and Sharon Roberts and her husband Steve of Bemus Pt, NY; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as 1 sister, Anna Nagy of National City, CA.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by son, Charles Miller; sister, Frances Jones; and brothers, Michael Gassler, Paul Gassler and Gottfried Gassler.

Those attending the graveside service are asked to gather at 10:30 am on Friday, July 27 at the Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West St., Wind Gap. The procession will drive together to the Wind Gap Cemetery for a public graveside service at 11:00 am.
