James E. Bell, 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family members, on Sunday, November, 17, 2013. BORN: In Abington, PA, he was the son of the late Norman and Ruth Bell. Jim was the husband of his beloved, high school sweetheart, the former Lois Andersen. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage this past June. PERSONAL: Jim was a graduate of Nutley High School, in Nutley, NJ. Later he graduated from Rutgers University, receiving a B.S. degree in Agriculture, and Temple University, where he attained a Master's degree in Education. He served in the Army with the Counter Intelligence Corp. for 2 years and later, taught Argriculture at North Hunterdon Regional High School for 12 years. Subsequently, he designed and supervised the construction of the East Stroudsburg Vocational School. Jim also served as the director of the Eastern Northampton Vo-tech (now C.I.T.) for an additional 12 years prior to his retirement. Jim was an avid golfer most of his life and served 2 terms as President of Oak Hill Golf Course. All of the family enjoyed yearly trips to Long Boat Key, Florida, where up to 20 people would have a good time at The Veranda. Jim will be sorely missed by family and friends alike. SURVIVORS: In addition to his beloved wife Lois, he is survived by sons, Kenneth A. and his wife Deborah of Trexlertown, James W. and his wife Julie of Greenville, SC, and Robert S. and his companion, Dawn of Nazareth; one daughter Kathleen S. of Nazareth; grandchildren, Kristin, Kiersten, Ian, Weston and Savannah and great-grandchildren, Evan, Tyler, Leah and Bronson. He was predeceased by a sister Dorothy Bell Anthony. SERVICES: Services will be private. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.
