James V. DiLiberto, 66, of Hazleton, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, September 27, 2015. Born September 9, 1949 in Omaha, Nebraska, he was a son of the late James V. and Rita Gualtiere DiLiberto. Jim graduated from Hazleton High School with the Class of 1967. He went on to honorably serve his country for eight years with the U.S. Airforce. Upon returning home from the service, he worked as a surveyor for Spotts, Stevens and McCoy, Inc. More recently, he worked for Stroehmann's Bakery and as a security guard for various businesses in the Hazleton area. Jim is survived by his son, James A. DiLiberto and his wife Pamela of Richfield Spring, NY, and two grandsons, Jackson and Jordan. Also surviving is his brother August DiLiberto, of Hazleton, his sister, Carmela Meyer and her husband James of Northampton, and a sister-in-law, Donna DiLiberto, wife of his late brother, Richard DiLiberto, of Zions Grove, PA. A Memorial Service will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Schmidt Funeral Home, Nazareth, PA.
