James "Jim"
Meixsell
Feb 15, 1951 — Jun 20, 2026
Lower Nazareth Township
James "Jim" Meixsell, 75, of Lower Nazareth Township, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Born on February 15, 1951, in Wilson Borough, Pennsylvania, Jim was the son of the late John D. Meixsell, Jr. and Grace Greenleaf Meixsell. Jim shared 41 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Pauletta "Pat" Meixsell, until her passing in 2015. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, love, and an unwavering devotion to their family.
A graduate of Nazareth Area High School, Jim was a member of the school's basketball team before continuing his education at East Stroudsburg State College, where he played football and earned a bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education. Throughout his professional career, he worked as a substitute teacher and was actively involved with the United Steelworkers of America and the American Society of Safety Engineers.
Above all else, Jim was a devoted husband and father whose greatest joy came from caring for those he loved. He also had a special affection for the family's beloved dogs Snoopy, Spunky, and Precious, who brought him many years of companionship and happiness.
A lifelong member of the Nazareth Area YMCA, Jim valued health, friendship, and community throughout his life. In retirement, he discovered a love for playing the guitar, embracing music as a rewarding new hobby that brought him much enjoyment.
Jim was a faithful member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nazareth, where he generously shared his time and talents. He served on the Church Council and was an active member of both the Stewardship and Property Committees. His quiet faith, servant's heart, and willingness to lend a helping hand touched the lives of many within his church and community.
Jim is survived by his loving son, Jason J. Meixsell, and Jason's longtime partner, Mindy Deeds; his brother, Michael Meixsell and his wife, Janet; as well as several aunts, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
Jim will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his deep love for his family, his generous heart, and the quiet strength and kindness that defined his life. His gentle spirit, unwavering character, and selfless devotion to others will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
