Janet E. Albanese, of Wind Gap, beloved wife of Archie Albanese, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 1, 2018, with family by her side in her home.
Janet was a daughter of the late John S. and Ruth (Mack) Young, formerly of Wind Gap. She was born on September 14, 1933 at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem.
As a young girl, she grew up in Chapman, later Nazareth, and then Wind Gap where she spent her teenage years. Janet was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School, class of 1951. She studied at Empire Beauty School in Allentown after high school, then worked at Laubach's Department Store in Easton. She married Archie on February 27, 1954, together they celebrated 64 years of marriage. Her life's work was her children, grandchildren, her home, and her Lord. Janet was a member of Mt. Eaton Church in Saylorsburg.
Janet and Archie were blessed with three sons, David, and wife Katy, Thomas, and wife Michelle, and Andrew, and wife Jennifer; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Janet is also survived by a sister, Ruth, of Lancaster, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, George and Richard.
A Celebration of Janet's life will be held at 10 am in Mount Eaton Church, Saylorsburg, Thursday, September 6, with Pastor Douglas Hayes officiating. Prior to the service, a viewing will be held from 9:00-10:00 am in the church. Burial will be in Wind Gap Cemetery.
