Janet E. Harvey, 79, of Wind Gap, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 in Slate Belt Health & Rehabilitation. She was the wife of the late M. James Harvey, who died in 2009.

Born in Minerva, NY, she was a daughter of the late J. Herbert and K. Albertus Mitchell. Janet was a caregiver to her family members, loved pets and country music and fostered unadoptable (sick) cats.

Survivors: Step-sons, Gary and his wife Julianne, Ronald, Michael and his wife Ruthann and Chris and his wife Linda; sister, Patricia Goodspeed; brothers, Donald Mitchell and his wife Nellie, A. Wade Mitchell and his wife Linda and D. John Mitchell and his wife Pamela; sister-in-laws, Sharon Clark and her husband Bob and Elizabeth Gallagher; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; good friend, Cathy Fritz.

Janet was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter Danielle, brother Charles "Chuck" Mitchell and sisters Judith and Carol Mitchell.

Due to COVID-19, there will not be any services for Janet at this time. Her urn will be buried on the family plot in Minerva, New York in the coming year. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC in Wind Gap.
