Jean A. Brown, 76, of Plainfield Twp., passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016 in the Easton Hospital. She was the wife of the late Samuel F. Brown who died in 1989. Born July 26, 1940 in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Robert W. and Hazel Mae Worman Roseberry.
Jean graduated from Easton High School with the Class of 1958. During her high school years she loved going to the football games and dances. Throughout her youth, she loved singing in the church choir, and during high school she also sang with a band called "You Are My Sunshine". She worked as a Saleswoman for Avante Manufacturing in Easton. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the Nazareth Senior Center. Most of all, Jean loved spending time with her family and her feline companion "Minnie".
She was a very active member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Belfast, where she formerly served as Financial Secretary and volunteered her time with various fundraising and church projects.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Cindy Steuer and her husband William, and her son, Samuel F. Brown, Jr. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandson; her brother, Robert Roseberry and his wife Linda; and a niece, Sandra Reed and her husband Mark. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her nephew, Robert Roseberry.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service which will be begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 607 School Road, Nazareth, PA, 18064, with the Rev. Paul Milligan officiating. There are no calling hours. Burial will follow in Plainfield Cemetery, Pen Argyl. Services are under the care and direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home, Nazareth.
Memorials in Jean's memory may be offered to a charity of one's choice.
